What is GST Login, Portal, Types, Benefits, Registration, Full Form, & Return? What are the components of GST and the List of Taxes replaced by GST If all of you are not aware of this then today’s post is for all of you? If you want to get complete information about Goods and Service Tax.
All of you must have seen and heard about GST in your daily life on TV, Smart Phone or Computer. Every day you hear this name in the news on TV. But those who do not know about it, think that what is this. But first of all, I want to ask all of you that if you found any of our previous post-ITR (Income Tax Return). I sincerely hope that all of you have liked the information about ITR.
Now let us understand what is GST and what are its types. How to do GST Login, Portal, Registration, Full Form, & Return. The way it was to go in the previous post that in ITR (Income Tax Return), you have to pay tax to the government from your income. But in GST you have to pay tax on Goods and Service. The government imposes a tax on those products and the tax of all the products is different.
The government of all the countries keeps on making some changes in the tax every year. By imposing a tax on goods and services, the income of the government increases a lot. But in all these the common man is pistachio, if you book, TV, water, etc. in the goods, there is a government tax on all. And if you go anywhere in the services like hotels, restaurants, etc. then you have to pay tax.
What is Goods and Service Tax?
The full form of GST is Goods and Services Tax. Now we know what is Goods and Services Tax (GST) is. Many types of taxes are levied in the country, but due to the implementation of GST, only one type of tax is levied in the country. Some goods have become cheaper in the market due to Goods and Services Tax and some goods have become expensive. There are changes in the GDP of the country due to the implementation of GST.
Now we understand GST in very simple words. For example, if you buy any product from the market, then that product will not be made directly. First, his raw mall will be ready and then that raw mall will come to the company. After that, the mall will be ready in the company and then it will go to the mall supplier. After that, the mall passes from the supplier to the wholesaler and finally to the retailer.
In all these places different tax is levied on the product. But with the introduction of GST, only one tax is levied on the product. Two things can happen from this, either the product is cheap, then the product is expensive. But most things are cheap and few things are expensive. The government charges Goods and Service Tax of 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28% on these goods and services.
The income of the government increased due to the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax. And the advantage of this was that more money started accumulating in the government fund. Earlier, many states used to tax more than their mind. But after implementing it, the same tax is levied in the whole country.
Full-Form of GST, CGST, SGST, IGST & UTGST
Now we know what is the full form of GST, CGST, SGST, IGST & UTGST, many people do not know about its full form. But if you are filling the tax of all the things present in the country, then you should be aware of its full form.
GST: The full form of GST is “Goods and Services Tax“.
CGST: The full form of CGST is “Central Goods and Services Tax“.
SGST: The full form of SGST is “State Goods and Services Tax“.
IGST: The full form of IGST is “Integrated Goods and Services Tax“.
UTGST: The full form of UTGST is “Union Territories Goods and Services Tax“.
Types of GST (Goods and Services Tax)
Now all of you must have this question in your mind that how many types of GST (Goods and Services Tax) are there. There are four types of GST in India and you can know about these four in full detail below.
- CGST (Central Goods and Services Tax)
- SGST (State Goods and Services Tax)
- IGST (Integrated Goods and Services Tax)
- UTGST (Union Territories Goods and Services Tax)
CGST (Central Goods and Services Tax): The Central Government has got the right to collect CGST under The Central Goods and Services Tax ACT, 12 April 2017. And it comes under Central Excise, Service Tax, Medical, etc. excise duty.
SGST (State Goods and Services Tax): SGST means both the buying and selling parties belong to the same state. If a product is made in the same state and sold in that state. So the state government gets its SGST. And as much share as CGST, the central government gets. Same as SGST, the state government also gets it.
IGST (Integrated Goods and Services Tax): The Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act came into force on 12 April 2017. The Central Government has got the right to collect IGST.
UTGST (Union Territories Goods and Services Tax): The Union Territories Goods and Services Tax Act came into force on 12 April 2017. The Central Government has got the right to collect CGST.
Benefits Goods and Service Tax-GST
Now we know what are the benefits of GST. But now we know about the Benefits or Advantages of Goods and Services Tax.
- With the implementation of GST, now you will have to pay zero percent tax on Essential Commodity. In this, you do not have to pay tax on milk, wheat, book, paper, etc.
- Due to its implementation, you will not have to pay Cascading Tax. Earlier, if a product was taxed after tax, it was taxed twice, but now you have to pay the tax only once.
- If earlier we used to order a product from outside the country, then we had to pay customs duty in it. But now we have to pay IGST along with customs duty. The prices of products imported from outside the country will increase and people will buy goods made in the country.
- In this, the entire work will be done legally and there will be no paperwork. Due to which there will be no corruption in the country and all the people will have to pay tax.
- If you are a businessman then you have to take the GSTIN number. with this, all your work will be done in a completely legal way.
- If we sell our products from one state to another, then we had to pay 2% CST for that. But now we have to pay only IGST.
- If the tax of a product is low, then the public will get its profit from Anti Profiteering Provision. Earlier its profit was kept by the businessmen.
What Are The Components of The GST?
There are 3 taxes applicable under this system – CGST, SGST, and IGST.
CGST: CGST is collected by the Central Government in an intra-state sale. (e.g., a transaction happening within Madhya Pradesh)
SGST: SGST is collected by the State Government in intra-state sales. (e.g., a transaction happening within Madhya Pradesh)
IGST: IGST is collected by the Central Government in the inter-state sale. (e.g., Madhya Pradesh to Tamil Nadu)
In most cases, the structure of tax which will be there in the new regime will be something like this:
|Transaction||New Regime||Old Regime||Revenue Distribution|
Sale within the State
|CGST + SGST||Central Excise/Service tax + VAT||Revenue shared equally between the Center and the State|
Sale to another State
|IGST|| Excise/Service Tax + Central Sales Tax||There will be only one type of tax (central) in inter-state sales. Then the center will share the IGST revenue on the basis of the destination of goods.|
